Join us for Career Connections: Student Success Panel & Networking Night on Wednesday, April 5th, from 5–8 PM!
Dress Code: Business Casual
Early bird tickets are open for just $5 and will close on Friday, March 30th or when 20 spots are filled. Everyone who gets an early bird ticket, follows @ubuntuisr & shows up to the event will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate.
Regular tickets are $10 and will open on Saturday, April 1st.
This event is open to all high school and undergraduate students looking to connect with UAlberta professors, YEG entrepreneurs, and community organizers.
At Career Connections, you can maximize your professional and personal life through networking with like-minded individuals and experts in various fields. This event will feature a panel of successful professionals (like Jean Bruce Koua & Ufuoma Muwhen, featured on the poster) who will provide career advice and notable tips and tricks to help you navigate your future. In addition, our expert speakers and hands-on workshop sessions will give you the skills and confidence to succeed.
In addition to the panel, there will be plenty of time for networking with other attendees, professors, entrepreneurs, and community organizers. Refreshments will also be provided.

The 2023 theme for Black History Month is: "Ours to tell".
This theme represents an opportunity to engage in open dialogue and a commitment to learn more about the stories Black communities in Canada have to tell about their histories, successes, sacrifices, and triumphs.
Black Lives in Alberta - Film Screening and Q&A Lunch & Learn

You are cordially invited to join the University of Alberta’s Black Students’ Association (UABSA) for a celebration of Black History Month 2023!
On February 24th 2023, the UABSA will be hosting a Black History Month (BHM) Gala dedicated to celebrating BHM amongst Black students and Allies of the University of Alberta. The theme of the event is “Cultural Resilience in Black Arts” and it will focus on celebrating the cultural history of the various forms of Black Arts in the diaspora. This year, the gala will highlight the diverse artistic cultures encompassing the various African, Caribbean, Black (ACB) communities in Edmonton.
Through the exhibition of culturally inspired artwork, music, fashion, and other forms of artistic performances, the goal of the 2023 UABSA Gala is to provide a safe space for the ACB community to express their rich culture and heritage. The event will also provide attendees with the opportunity to learn about the rich histories, reasons, and stories behind the development of the ACB cultural arts.

This gala hopes to honour Black students in health sciences. Surrounded by peers and professionals, excellence is seen at every stage. Melanin Narratives VII: Storytelling - Past, Present, Future
To capture the transforming essence of storytelling, YEG TheComeUp will be hosting Melanin Narratives VII - a multi-media art showcase presenting the talent of local Black artists. The theme we will be exploring is storytelling - past, present and future. Our goal is to shine a light on the power of stories to transcend time and space while also being told in new and innovative ways. Through our showcase, artists of various disciplines will be given a platform to share their stories and their creative approach to telling them. Register here.
