Black Excellence In Motion

Black Excellence in Motion is a community sports day on Wednesday, April 29th, 2026, bringing together athletes ages 16–28 for friendly competition in flag football and soccer, plus a relay race and 40‑yard dash. The event runs from 5pm–10pm at the Commonwealth Recreation Centre, using two fields in a 7v7 format (10 per team but 7 on the field). We welcome university students as well as local high school football and soccer players to participate to compete for prizes valued up to $250.

In addition to the games, students can take part in a case‑presentation competition exploring ideas related to sports, mental health, and student well‑being. Participants can submit something they’ve created before or develop a new idea. Certificates and honorarium awards will be provided to recognize student creativity and can be added to your resume.

The event also features mental‑health tabling groups, food and drinks, and an awards ceremony. Thank you for being part of a day that celebrates fitness, resilience, and community.

While there are no minimum or maximum limits, teams should aim to include both female and male athletes. Only teams with fairly equal female and male ratios will be eligible for certain awards.
